FS 120 - Master Filmmakers

Study of film directors and how their work has advanced and defined the art of cinema. Landmark films by celebrated directors, both foreign and domestic, are analyzed in terms of theme, structure and cinematic technique. Emphasis placed on the role of the auteur. Directorial contributions to specific film genres are explored.
